May brags

May 16 & 17 - Spot On AAC Agility Trial

Peso gets his 2nd Masters Snooker Q and is now only 1 Q away from his ATChC!! What an amazing boy he is!!!! Peso also gets a Steeplechase Q.

Phe does her first ever Starters Gamble course and comes away with a Q.

Student Linda and her BC Lola get their first ever Q in Starters Gamble. Good job girls :)

May 9 & 10 - K9 Klubhouse AAC Trial

Baxter had a good weekend with some nice runs and came away with 2 Masters Gamble Q's and his Bronze Title for Gamble! (EXG Bronze)

Abbey had a few nice runs and comes away with a Masters Standard Q.

Ripley runs in his first Starters Gamble and gets the gamble but is short 1 point to Q. He does get the next Gamble Q and too sad that his handler pulled him off the tunnel in Jumpers missing that Q.

May 1st - Acton Agility's AAC Trial

Andrea, Peso and Phe were scheduled to head to Kingston for a weekend trial where Peso had 4 snooker runs to hopefully get his ATChC but thankfully Andrea checked out her email to find out the dome had fallen in a storm. Not to miss out on an agility day they headed west instead to Acton's trial for a day.

Phe did awesome coming away with her first Advanced Jumpers Q! This is one awesome little jumping girl :) Peso didn't get any Q's but had some really nice runs. Sadly there weren't any snooker courses for him to run.

2009 Canadian Agility Team Fundraisers!

Over the Edge Agility is very excited that our friend Tiffany Salmon and her border collie TNT Rio have been named to the 2009 Canadian Agility Team. They will be heading to Dornbirn, Austria this September to compete in the FCI World Championships. Rio is very special to us at OTEA as she is the mother of TNT Baxter and TNT Phoenix as well as the grandmother of TNT Ripley. We will all be cheering for our team and our friends.

In order to help the te
am travel to Austria, we are planning a few fundraisers throughout the summer to help Rio and the rest of her team. I hope you will support this amazing group of Canine and Human athletes that will be representing our Country.

Overdue Update

I know, I know...I have been a very BAD blogger this year! OTEA dogs and our students have actually been quite busy these past few months. We have also been very busy working on getting ready for the Ontario Regionals coming up next month.

Here are the long overdue brags:

April 4 & 5 - K9 Klubhouse AAC Agility Trial
A huge contingent of OTEA dogs/students head to K9 Klubhouse's first ever indoor agility trial. What a great venue and as always a great trial. The dogs did great and came home with some Q's.
Peso had a rocking weekend and came away with a Masters Standard Q, a Masters Gamble Q and 2 Steeplechase Q's!
Baxter had a good weekend really working hard. He also came away with a Masters Gamble Q and a really nice Advance Standard run.
Abbey had an amazing Masters Jumper run coming away with a Q and best run of the 16" dogs.
Phoenix ran 2 Advanced Jumpers runs and rocked. She had one bar down in the first run but otherwise was picture perfect on a very hard course! She is one smoking fast girl!!
Ripley had 2 Starter Jumpers runs and was a very good boy. He had a refusal in his first run and had a couple of bars in his second. We really think he is going to be a fast boy, he ran the one run in 6.5 yps!

OTEA Student: Michel and Roni had an amazing Steeplechase run (though didn't beat Peso ;)) and came away with a Q.

Mar 20 - Acton Agility's AAC Trial
Peso comes away with a Masters Jumper Q and a Steeplechase Q.

Mar 6 - Acton Agility's AAC Trial
Phoenix has a great Starters Jumper run and comes away with her 2nd Q moving her into Advanced.
Peso has a smoking Steeplechase run earning another Q.
Ripley debuts with his first Starters Jumper run. He did a great job but too bad for his handler ;)

Mar 1 - Royackers AAC Trial
Peso and Phe take in a one day trial at Royackers. Phe wows people and comes home with lots of compliments :) This is one great little agility dog.
Peso has a great day too coming away with a Masters Jumper Q and his first Masters Snooker Q!! Peso is now on countdown for his ATChC...only 2 more Snooker Q's to go!!!!!!

January Brags

Happy New Year to everyone! I know, I am actually posting that in Feb but since this is our Jan brags, I thought I better still say it. I have been a total slacker on the brags since Dec but promise to keep it up to date going forward :)

January started off great for the OTEA dogs. We took the whole gang to Acton Agility's AAC trial on New Years Day and almost every dog came away with a Q!

Andrea ran Phoenix in the Starters Jumpers. This was her 2nd time in the ring and they came away with their first AAC Q!! She is a smoking fast little girl and I was glad to be there to see her first Q.

Phoenix's Starters Jumper Q run:

Baxter had a pretty good day having a bar or 2 in most of his runs but running well. His final course was Advanced Jumpers where I spent the whole time telling him "easy" to get him to NOT try and bounce outrageous distances! It wasn't pretty but he got the Q!! I was soo proud of my boy.

Baxter's Advanced Jumpers Q run:

Peso also had a great day running really well. He came away with his first Q of the year in Masters Standard!

Peso's Masters Standard Q run:

Abbey was in FEO mode for most of the day. I had moved her up to 16" regulars FEO for the day to see how she did and to make my final decision about moving her back to regulars. Well, she gave me no doubt whatsoever about her abilities as she flew around the courses without taking one jump down. I am not sure how, but she is actually faster over the higher height! She made me run my butt off!! lol. I did take her down to 10" specials for her final run in Masters Jumpers and she came away with her first Q of 2009. She is now a Regular's dog so we will see how she does in March...

Abbey's Masters Jumper Q run:

Another highlight of the day was having both Chase and Owen run in Jumpers. Chase started off first in Starter's Jumpers with Andrea. He actually ran the course quite well but had a refusal so no Q. I think we may be seeing more of this team in 2009.

Owen was running in Advanced Jumpers and was only 1 dog away after Baxter's run. I didn't think that I could give him my best so hubby Rick stepped in and ran his first ever AAC agility course! I couldn't have been happier with both Rick and Owen. With just 1 little handling mistake, they almost got a Q!! Thanks Andrea for walking the course with Rick and helping him to know what to do. I think we may see more of the Rick/Owen team out there this year!

Royacker's AAC Agility Trial - January 18th

Andrea and her dogs headed to Royacker's in mid-Jan to have a day of agility. The dogs ran really well, Phoenix also got to run Advanced Jumpers FEO and had tons of compliments on how well she ran! She is already impressing people with her athletisism and speed! Watch out for this girl, she is good!

Peso had a good day too. He came away with another Q in his Masters Jumpers course.
